Clinical Research in General Practice
Covid-19 related trials
Here at Eric Moore Partnership Medical Practice we believe in the importance of clinical research and actively support research studies in primary care, not only within our own practice but across the Warrington area.
We are very excited to have joined the National Research Surveillance and Practice Group, hosted by Oxford University. This contributes pseudonymised data for monitoring infection and diseases in the community. It helps to provide Public health England with the prediction of outbreaks of influenza and other pandemics.
We have undertaken clinical research for over 18 months, with six 'open' research studies, and all of the practice GP’s are research trained and lead on different studies. In addition we have a dedicated clinical research nurse, Stephanie Duncan-Noke, to support this work. It is an important area for patients in General Practice to have the opportunity to take part in and we are working very hard to improve access to research for all patients in this area.
When visiting the practice you may see leaflets and posters about the research we are doing or we may write to you to invite you to take part. Please take the time to read the information as you may find you want to take part too.
Research is about finding new knowledge that can lead to changes and improvements in treatments and patient care it is an important aspect of NHS work. The research we are involved with is carried out under the banner of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) North West Coast Clinical Research Network, we do also take part in commercial trials.
