NURSE CLINICIANS
The Practice offers appointments
with our Nurse Clinician, Shelley
McElvaney, as an alternative to an
appointment with a GP. Shelley is
available to offer appointments to
patients for all acute conditions
and is a Qualified Independent Nurse
Prescriber.
Dianne Rudd is the Community Matron
Nurse Practitioner based at the
Practice who works hand in hand with
the practice team on housebound and
chronically ill patients.
Both the Nurse Clinician and
Community Matron nurse work
alongside the Doctors and are fully
qualified to attend to all forms of
patients and ailments. They are
fully qualified independent
prescribers and work in tandem with
the duty doctor of the day. The
Nurse Clinician is available for in
house routine and urgent
appointments whilst the Community
Matron is responsible for Home bound
patients and their long term
management. Both are very experienced
Nursing Clinicians.
Patients can book appointments with
the Nurse Clinician as an
alternative to a GP appointment.
PRACTICE NURSE
Danielle Hands (RGN) is the Practice
Nurse.
Danielle undertakes all forms of chronic
disease management (Ischaemic Heart
Disease, Diabetes, Asthma, C.O.P.D.)
clinics and reviews.
Patients can also book appointments
for Cervical Smears, Well Man/Woman,
Contraceptive Advice, Travel Advice
and Immunisations, Childhood
Vaccinations, Pneumococcal
Vaccinations (Over 65s and at risk
patients), Influenza Vaccinations
(September-January), Blood Pressure
Clinics and other health promotions.
All eligible patients will be
contacted by the Practice to book an
appointment for Chronic Disease
Reviews etc. Patients can also
contact the Practice Reception to
book your appointment as required.
NURSING ASSISTANTS
Karen Irvine and Sara Childs are the Medical Care Assistants for the Practice and offer appointments for blood pressure monitoring, blood tests, Spirometry, new patient check ups, ECGs and support the clinical staff in all aspects of patient care.
